Boycott boring oats! This apple pie oatmeal is so delicious and easy to make. Plus I snuck in a way to get added protein without the use of protein powder!

what you’ll need:

  • Old fashioned oats

  • 1 medium apple

  • Maple syrup

  • Cinnamon

  • Nutmeg

  • Almond milk

  • Egg whites (optional, for extra protein)

  • Pecans

  • Coconut oil

Instructions:

This recipe makes 2 servings!

Cut up the apple into small pieces. Then add 1tbs coconut oil to a pan. Once it’s melted add the apples, 1tbs maple syrup, sprinkle of cinnamon, & nutmeg(nutmeg is potent so don’t use too much) Sauté them for a few min until they start to soften.

Next add in 1/2 cup oats and 1 cup almond milk and stir. Let it simmer for about 3-4 min until the liquid has evaporated.

I added egg whites to this for extra protein. I promise you cannot taste them AT ALL!! But feel free to skip this step if you don’t want to add them.

Make sure the heat is on low and add in 1/2 cup egg whites (I buy a carton). Mix CONTINUOUSLY for about 2 min. This will allow the egg whites to cook without them becoming like scrambled eggs!

Place it in a bowl and top with fresh apple, pecans, and sprinkle of cinnamon. Enjoy!!
