Tender gnocchi, a rich homemade meat sauce, melty burrata, and plenty of parmesan come together in one pan for a cozy Italian-inspired dinner that feels restaurant worthy from the very first bite.

Ingredients

  • 1, 16 oz package of uncooked gnocchi
  • 1 lb ground italian chicken sausage or ground turkey
  • 1/2 medium onion, diced
  • 1, 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup chicken stock
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp italian seasoning, 3 tbsp if using ground turkey
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese
  • 2, 4oz balls of burrata
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400℉.
  • Preheat a large oven safe pan to medium heat and add the avocado oil.
  • Add the ground italian chicken sausage to the pan and cook 5-7 minutes until fully cooked.
  • Add the diced onions and minced garlic and saute for a few more minutes.
  • Add the crushed tomatoes, chicken stock, and seasoning and stir well. Let this simmer on low for at least 10 minutes but the longer you simmer the better! This will allow all the flavors to come together.
  • Stir in the uncooked gnocchi and top with the burrata and parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in the oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is fully melted and bubbly. I usually like to broil mine at the end for a minute to get the cheese nice and golden.
  • Serve with freshly chopped basil and enjoy!
