Why I Love This Recipe
There’s something so satisfying about biting into a crispy tostada loaded with warm taco meat and fresh toppings. Every layer brings a different texture, from the crunchy shell and creamy refried beans to the seasoned turkey, melty cheddar, and cool guacamole. Set everything out and let everyone build their own, and dinner suddenly becomes a lot more fun.
Enjoying The Leftovers
The turkey filling is perfect to keep on hand for more than just tostadas. Use it for tacos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, or taco salads throughout the week. For the best crunch, assemble the tostadas just before serving.
Storing
Store the ground turkey, refried beans, cheese, and fresh toppings in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Keep the tostada shells at room temperature in a sealed container so they stay crisp.
Reheating
Warm the turkey and refried beans until heated through, then layer them onto the tostada shells with the cheese and bake until melted. Finish with your favorite fresh toppings like guacamole, tomatoes, red onion, cilantro, sour cream, or hot sauce.

Ground Turkey Tostadas
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
- Preheat a large pan to medium-high heat. Add the ground turkey and cook for 7-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked.
- Add the taco seasoning packet and the amount of water instructed on the back of the seasoning packet. Mix well and simmer on low for a few minutes until the liquid thickens.
- Add an even layer of tostadas to a foil-lined baking sheet. I could fit six on my baking sheet.
- Add a scoop of refried beans to each tostada and gently spread it evenly.
- Next, add some ground turkey mixture and top with shredded cheese.
- Bake in the oven for about 5 minutes until the cheese is nice and melty.
- Top with your favorite toppings! I used guacamole, diced tomatoes, diced red onion, sour cream, freshly diced cilantro, and some hot sauce. Enjoy!
