Why I Love This Recipe
Pasta salad is already one of my favorite meal prep lunches, but this version might be my favorite yet. It has all the flavors of a pepperoni pizza, tossed with a creamy dressing and just enough hot honey to make every bite a little sweet, a little spicy, and seriously addictive. It’s easy to throw together and somehow gets even better after a few hours in the fridge.
Enjoying The Leftovers
This pasta salad is one of my favorites to make ahead because the flavors continue to develop as it chills. Give everything a quick toss before serving, and if you’re a hot honey fan like I am, add an extra drizzle right before eating to freshen it up.
Storing
Store the pasta salad in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Since the pasta will absorb some of the dressing as it sits, you can stir in a spoonful of Greek yogurt or a splash of milk before serving if you’d like it creamier.
When you’re ready to eat
Serve chilled with extra parmesan, fresh basil, and a drizzle of hot honey over the top. It’s perfect on its own for lunch or paired with grilled chicken, burgers, or sandwiches for an easy summer meal.

High Protein Hot Honey Pizza Pasta Salad
Ingredients
- 8 oz high protein pasta
- 8 oz pepperoni
- 10 oz mini mozzarella balls
- 15-20 grape tomatoes, sliced in half
- 2 tbsp fresh basil
- Topped with freshly cracked pepper + hot honey
For the dressing
- 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt
- 1 tbsp mayo
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
- 2-3 tbsp tomato paste
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2-3 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the Banza pasta and cook according to package instructions. Drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, mayo, olive oil, red wine vinegar, tomato paste, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, red pepper flakes, and grated Parmesan. Season with salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, add 1 tbsp of water and mix until it’s your desired consistency.
- In a large bowl, combine the cooled pasta, pepperoni, mozzarella balls, sliced grape tomatoes, and chopped fresh basil.
- Pour the dressing over the pasta mixture and toss until everything is evenly coated. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Top with freshly cracked black pepper and a generous drizzle of hot honey just before serving. Serve chilled or at room temperature.
